Hi! I'm Carlyn, the owner and artist behind Ponderosa Sky Designs. 

If you had told me 10 years ago that I would have a business based entirely on art I would have laughted in your face. I have always been crafty and have enjoyed art, but I hadn't ever thought of myself as an artsy person. That all changed in 2020. Originally from Denver, CO, I relocated to Minneapolis, MN in May of 2020 and quickly realized that I needed to find something to do with my time while locked in my house due to the global pandemic.

I began dabbling in polymer clay jewelry and found that the hands on nature of it really spoke to my heart. The ability to create my own colors, form it into a myriad of different shapes and turn this ball of clay into something beautiful was very satisfying. Then in late 2021 I decided to try my hand at turning this art into a business and Ponderosa Sky Designs was born!

Over the next 2 years I found that my favorite kind of polymer clay jewelry to create and wear was imitation stone. The ability to create earrings that look like something that has taken the earth millions of years to create is just so cool! Then in 2023 I finally caved to a yearning in my soul that I had been putting off for years because I knew I would get hooked immediately... I took my first stained glass class.

Boy was I right. Hook, line and sinker, I was in love. 

Now I have an art studio in my house and stained glass in so many windows. I hope you enjoy my designs as much as I have enjoyed creating them.
